About cinnarizine
The vestibular nerve is situated inside the ear and controls balance. Cinnarizine is useful in treating vertigo (loss of balance or giddiness), tinnitus (buzzing or ringing in the ears), sickness and vomiting caused by Meniere's disease and travel sickness.

How Does It Work?
Stugeron tablets contain the active ingredient cinnarizine, which is a type of medicine called an antihistamine. (NB. Cinnarizine is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Cinnarizine is used to control travel sickness and the symptoms of inner ear disorders such as Meniere's disease.
Vomiting is controlled by an area of the brain called the vomiting centre. The vomiting centre is responsible for causing feelings of sickness (nausea) and for the vomiting reflex. It is activated when it receives nerve messages from the vestibular apparatus in the middle ear.

The vestibular apparatus provides continual feedback to the brain about our body position. When something disturbs the vestibular apparatus, such movement of the head when travelling by boat or car, nerve signals are sent from the vestibular apparatus to the vomiting centre. This can cause sensations such as nausea, dizziness or spinning sensations (vertigo) and the reflex of vomiting.
Cinnarizine works by blocking histamine and muscarinic receptors in the vomiting centre in the brain. This prevents the vomiting centre from receiving nerve messages from the vestibular apparatus. In turn, this prevents disturbances in the middle ear from activating the vomiting centre and causing nausea, vertigo and vomiting.

For 21 years had problems flying till found these Stugeron Tablets - now can sleep, not feel sick or ill at all for long distance flights.

I've suffered chronic travel sickness in cars & buses since I was a child. It was so bad that I had to leave two schools I'd won scholarships to and go to inferior local schools as they didnt involve travelling.
Driving myself is rarely a problem, though occasionally on long trips I feel naeseus after them. This travel problem has handicapped my job choice & prospects. Stugeron, have changed my travel problems dramatically. I can now undertake local (free) bus and tram travel without giving it a second thought.
A relative who was feeling travel sick took the tablets whilst we were travelling in a mini bus to a wedding in the middle of nowhere and in no time at all she felt better. By the time we returned home she'd forgotten all about her travel sickness.
For me; Stugeron work, they have no side effects and do not clash with any of the medications I have to take. I recomend them highly.

The best things about these tablets are they are not a sedative and they have been the most useful remedy for motion sickness for the whole family.
